Our Staff Team

We are delighted to introduce our skilled and experienced staff team.

Mrs Fox worked with the sponsor to develop the bid for the new school and is the Executive Head. 


With 12 years’ experience of being a Head Teacher in the primary sector in Devon, Mrs Fox successfully led Okehampton Primary School to outperform national averages in the percentage of pupils meeting the expected standards in reading writing and maths.

 

As Executive Head, Mrs Fox provides leadership to ensure that the school is effective and drives school improvement – the process by which the school can raise standards and improve pupil outcomes.

Mrs Stevens brings a wealth of experience to St James.

 

Her career to date has included roles as a Teacher, Subject Coordinator, Foundation Stage Leader, Deputy Head, Local Authority Adviser, Head of Early Years, Assistant Headteacher and Acting Head of School.

 

A qualified Headteacher, Mrs Stevens holds a B.Ed (Hons) in Early Childhood Education and is a Department for Education designated Specialist Leader in Education.

 

As Head of School, Mrs Stevens oversees the day to day management of the school and drives high standards of teaching and learning.

Mrs MacDonald joined us from Okehampton Primary School where she has worked as a Foundation Teacher since 2014. With over 14 years experience in childcare, Mrs MacDonald has always worked in early years settings and is passionate and imaginative about taking learning outdoors.

Mrs Enderson has over 25 years’ experience of working with young children, including as a Nanny, Childminder, Pre-school assistant, Pre-school Leader, Early Years Practitioner and most recently, a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Early Years. Mrs Enderson holds a degree in Early Years Education.

Mrs Cowling joined us from a school in Exeter and brings significant experience in school administration and a lovely cheery manner! She is  the first point of contact for parents, welcoming the children every morning, supporting the staff team and ensuring we all work efficiently and effectively.
