St James Church of England Primary and Nursery School opened in September 2018 with places in Reception and is growing incrementally year on year. It has a distinctive Christian character and makes the most of its Dartmoor setting by specialising in outdoor learning and education. You will need a good pair of wellies!
You’ll be working with, and be supported by, the Executive Head and Head of School to offer the best education and experiences for our reception and KS1 children. We believe strongly in ensuring all staff have a work life balance and take teacher workload seriously.

You will be a creative teacher with:
- The skills to deliver the curriculum in a stimulating and interesting way;
- Well-developed behaviour management skills;
- Experience of meeting a wide range of pupil needs including those with SEN;

- The ability to develop good relationships with staff, children, parents and the wider community;
- An interest in, and enthusiasm for, opportunities for outdoor education and learning.

SCHOOL MEALS CATERING ASSISTANT
Would you like a new and exciting job that fits in with your children’s school hours?
St James Church of England Primary and Nursery School are looking for an enthusiastic School Meals Catering Assistant to start work in the Summer term 2019.
As Catering Assistant, you will collect meals from Okehampton Primary School and deliver and serve at St James. Duties will include setting up tables, serving lunch, washing dishes and general kitchen duties. Driving will be an essential element of this role.
If you have a professional flexible approach and take pride in providing a catering service that’s second to none, then we want to hear from you. Full training will be provided.
Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS before employment can commence – cost of which is paid for by the school.
The position is for 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only (38 weeks of the year).
