“A Christian culture where the community is made welcome and pupils are valued” (SIAMs,2025)

Statutory Inspection of Anglican & Methodist Schools (SIAMS) Report
At St James CofE Primary and Nursery School, our Christian vision is rooted in the parable of the wise man who built his house upon the rock. This powerful image inspires us to nurture resilience in our children: helping them to stand firm through life’s challenges, just as the wise man did. Our values, Ignite, Explore, Believe... Together, guide everything we do, encouraging curiosity, faith, and community.
As a Church of England school, we are subject to the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS). This inspection evaluates how effectively our Christian vision shapes the life of our school; its culture, curriculum, relationships, and collective worship. SIAMS helps us reflect on how we live out our faith and values in ways that support every child to flourish.
We welcome SIAMS as an opportunity to celebrate our strengths and identify ways to grow, ensuring that our foundation remains strong and our vision continues to inspire.
“Enabling the wellbeing and good mental health of staff and pupils is central to the school’s vision.”
