Ask the children ‘How do you think the giants are ruining the animals homes?’, ‘ What could they be doing?’, ‘What do you think a girl like Greta could do about it?’ Recap with your child fronted the fronted adverbials that we use when writing instructions (we did these a couple of times before Christmas so they will need reminding – once told a couple, they should be able to name the rest)
Can the children pretend to be Greta – how might she be feeling when she hears the animals telling her this? How can she help them? What can she do to show her support?
The children can then write some instructions of Greta’s plan to save the animals homes.
