Recap:
- What is a verb?
- Who can spot the verb in the sentence?

-Who is tricky ‘ed’?

-When do we use tricky ‘ed’?

-Why is he called tricky ‘ed’?

Go through a few examples.

Give children Activity 1:
Can they colour in each word – purple for if the word is in the present tense and red if it is in the past tense.

Can they join together the words that are pairs?

Move onto Activity 2: Can the children cut out the purple verbs and stick them into the correct sentence.

Can they complete the red sentence underneath if it changed into the past tense.

See the MyOn reading project – can the children highlight any past tense verbs they see that end with tricky ‘ed’?
