Recap Days of the Week with your child. Can they tell you them in chronological order? Can they spell them correctly?

Highlight spelling rule:
- if there’s the ‘ur’ sound in a day, it is always spelt with a ‘ur’: Thursday / Saturday

Write down the days of the week in a jumbled order and the activities in the song on the other side. Can the children draw a line to match the day with the activity?

Next, ask the children to create a timetable for the family in the song. Leave them to do this independently. Don't have the days of the week open for them to read & copy.  See if they can write the days of the week correctly. They can draw pictures for the activity instead of writing them.
