In 2022 - 2023, our Foxes class (Y2) is led by Miss Rebecca Tooms and Ms Valentina Perri-Khoo who are supported by Mrs Redding.

Autumn 1

To start off the year, we shared our Summer Projects based around what the children learnt in Hedgehogs about London. It could've been something interesting about London in the present or a key event in London's history. We're looking forward to building on this knowledge later on in the year!

We enjoyed spending lots of time outside to help us with our maths learning. We used chalk to show our understanding of tens and ones and challenge our friends. 

We also estimated numbers on a class number line!

Autumn 2

In Foxes Class, our maths lessons have gotten a bit harder this term as we move onto using the column method to add two 2-digit numbers. We enjoyed using dienes blocks to help us before exploring the written method. 

In our DT lessons, we have learning about moving mechanisms with Mrs Goodwin! We were very excited to make our own Moving Monsters using card and split pins. 

We have also been exploring different 2D and 3D shapes and their properties. We went on a shape hunt around our classroom and used 2D shapes to create snowflake patterns and Christmas characters in our final week of term.
