Listen to some of the times-tables songs to warm up (these can be found on the website)

This week, we are focusing on making equal groups.

Complete the activity of making equal groups.

When the children are finding the objects to make groups themselves, can they first, make their groups (take a photo) and then put them into arrays? (take a photo)

Remind the children that an array is made up of rows and columns with equal amounts in. (like a bar of chocolate)

For example:

This would be an array for 3 x 3. There are 3 circles in each row and 3 circles in each column.

   o o o o o

This would the an array for 5 x 2.
