Are you an experienced, creative Teacher looking for a new challenge and potential future leadership opportunities?

St James Church of England Primary and Nursery School opened in September 2018 with places in Reception and is growing incrementally year on year. It has a distinctive Christian character and makes the most of its Dartmoor setting by specialising in outdoor learning and education. You will need a good pair of wellies.

You’ll be working with and be supported by the Headteacher to offer the best education and experiences for our reception and KS1 children. We believe strongly in ensuring all staff have a work life balance and take teacher workload seriously.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your primary experience to help shape a brand-new school.

You will be a creative teacher with:

    • Well-developed behaviour management skills.
    • Experience of meeting a wide range of pupil needs including those with SEN.
    • A proven record of good classroom organisation and management.
    • The ability to develop good relationships with staff, children, parents and the wider community
    • An interest in, and enthusiasm for, opportunities for outdoor education and learning
    •
