Lunch Menus

Attached is our new menu for the Summer Term 2024.

Please order your child's meal on the School Gateway.  To help manage food waste and costs more effectively, meals will need to be booked one week ahead.

We encourage parents to use the QR code moving forward (please see Allergen Matrix below for QR code) as these offer live data. If there are any allergen updates in the future this is the best way to access the most up to date data.

School Meals

From September 2021, St James has a fully functional kitchen and we are therefore able to cook meals fresh on site and serve them to our children.

The current lunch menu is above. Please ensure that you make your lunch time choices via School Gateway each week.

We aim to develop good habits by getting the children involved in laying the table, pouring water, serving bread rolls etc and discussing their day with the teachers and classmates.

All children in Foundation, Years 1 and 2 are eligible for Universal Infant Free School Meals. Some children will be entitled to free school meals throughout their time at school. This is normally because they are from a low income family, a service family or are a looked after child. If your child will be entitled to free school meals for any of these reasons, please register for Free School Meals so that the school can claim additional Pupil Premium funding for your child. Parents who may be eligible are advised to contact Devon County Council on: 0345 155 1019 for more information.

Packed Lunches

Children may bring in a packed lunch as long as it is brought in a suitable plastic container marked with the child’s name. No glass bottles, fizzy drinks or sweets please. Children who have packed lunch will eat in the setting with the children who are having school meals. Children are not allowed to share their lunches due to the risk of food allergies.
